I am not currently in pain. Can I still benefit from Postural Therapy?
Anybody can benefit from re-aligning their body. Postural Therapy will help you improve sports activities and be more energetic and agile in daily life. Improved posture also has the benefit of increasing your metabolic rate and allowing your internal organs to function more properly.
Could I bring my child to Postural Therapy?
Again: anybody can benefit from re-alignment. Children are much less physically active now than children were 20 years ago. If they play sports they often only have on particular sport they focus on. Children are no longer as versatile as they used to be. They spend an extreme amount of time sitting…at school, in the car, in front of the TV or computer. The current generation will probably experience musculoskeletal pain much earlier in life than adults now.
How long will it take me to see results?
The length of time it takes to see results varies from person to person. You will most likely experience some pain relief and feel better after your first visit but keep in mind: there is no quick fix. Allow the exercises some time to work.
Do I really have to do the exercises every day?
Yes! Your body will need constant re-affirmation that it should move in a different way. Even thought this is a ore natural way to move your body will try to revert to what it is familiar with.
Is it OK if my husband does my exercise with me?
Although your exercises cannot hurt your husband the menu you receive is tailored to your body. It would be better to bring your husband in so he can get a program that addresses his posture.
Should I do the exercises in the morning or in the evening?
As long as you do the exercises every day it does not matter when.
Do I have to do all the exercises in my menu or can I just pick one or two if I am short on time?
Ideally you would do your entire program first. If you later during the day feel that you would like to pick one or two of the exercises to do feel free.
Is Postural Therapy different from doing yoga or Pilates?
Yes. Any form of exercise is beneficial, but postural therapy aims at correcting your specific alignment issues. One-on-one attention allows a more personalized and precise attention to your alignment.
Can I continue seeing my massage therapist, chiropractor, etc.?
Yes, manual therapies are a great compliment to Postural Therapy.
